Excavation & Foundation

(July - August 2004)

We got started with the excavation for this project in early July.
The foundation crew is dealing with a pretty major step down in our footing to follow the rock seam. We had to build a two-sided form that took just about 10 yards of concrete.
There it is -- as well-braced as we could manage.
We poured the footings in late July, and then started the walls.
The side walls and back foundation wall needed to be 10 feet hight and as you can see below, the architect spec'ed a ton of rebar.
Finally - the slab, which means we can start framing the basement walls.
