| A little closer view, showing the operator (at the top)
guiding the pump truck boom and hose, while the foundation crew does the
heavy work. This was another of the beautiful December days we can have
on the coast, when it's hard to understand why the coast has such a bad
rep.
At the left you can see part of the Centrum office walls framed. Shortly after this picture was taken, we got the rest of the walls framed, rafters framed, plywood on and even tarpaper on the roof. Since then we've had freezing weather and a skiff of snow (as you can see below) which left us with frozen pipes and a strong inclination to stay home. Things thawed out this week and then the monsoons struck, flooding low ground up and down the coast and turning this little hillside into a sea of mud, as you can see on the next page. |
