September — Rafters
Around the first of September we started rafters. This is in the office, where there's a great view to the east of the Nestucca River.
You can almost see the two rafters over the north end of the house. It turned out to be quite a bit of roof!
Above, we've got the outriggers done over Zelma's room. Our thinking was to get that roof on so we could use the area under her room for storage. At left we've got the facia on, soffits done and plywood on.
At left we've got pretty near everyting raftered off except the area in front of the garage, and below, we've set the beam in front of the entrace that those lower roof rafters will sit on.

Meanwhile, inside Stan Homola and his crew were building the fireplace.
