Framing - October

Here we are in late September. We've started framing the garage, the idea being to get a dry place for the radial saw.
Another shot of the garage framing.
And here's the garage with the I-jost rafters on. Since then we've got plywood on the roof and a temporary tarpaper roof.
Once the garage was done, we went back down to the guest bedroom level and started working our way back up the hillside.

Here, we're lowering the glu-lam beams down to frame up the guest bedroom ceiling, which is also the master bedroom floor.
This was October 15 -- master bedroom floor framed.
We've started frming the master bedroom walls here.
Here's a slightly different angle of the same photo as above.
And here is a view from the master bedroom window on a nice mid-October day, the heighth of Indian summer.
In late October we've just raftered off the guest and master bedroom area at the lower end of the house.

Now all we need to do is fill in the blank space between that upper angled wall alongside the garage, and the small vertical wall where Chad is working.

Below, we've installed the vertical posts and glu-lams that frame the east windows.

Another view, taken late October. We'll start on the west side next week.
