In this picture, we've decked off the upper floor and are getting ready
to start framing walls, and below, we've assembled a jumble of walls, getting
ready for the next step.
Here, we're lifting the chimney chase into place with a truck crane. Amazing
how unwieldy (and heavy) a plywood box three feet square and twenty feet
long can be. Fastening the lifting straps wasn't hard when it was on the
ground, but getting them off after it was in place was harder.
That was early March. Then it was back inside for the lodgepole pine poles
and tear out the temporary posts we'd put in to support the upper level.
Below Mike Wolfe and Rob Bailey are notching them to fit the beams, and
below that, the finished product.
